1x Run, 2 Miles
May. 2nd, 2015 07:12 pmDate: 05/02
Mileage: 2.3
Notes: Moved into the building yesterday and was all geared up to try out the gym this morning...and couldn't even get past the door because no access code :( But the new flatmate came home - right after I found out about this community - and was very helpful, so here I am!
Prompts:
1. Talk to me about Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin? Or other dynamic duos?
2. Baby rookies transformed into baby animals!
3. What did/do you like about living on your own?

Date: 2015-05-03 11:04 am (UTC)Olli turns into a bird, so small and fragile that people were almost afraid to touch him. But he loves being held and chirps happily when he's stroked along his back or chest. He doesn't transform often, and when he does everyone wants to be the one who got to hold him. When he becomes older he usually flies to one of the defensemen, Tanger most often, and once he landed in Flower's goalie glove and seemed to think it was the best nest ever.
Derrick turns into a small black cat. The first time he and Olli transformed at the same time everybody was worried, but the kitten and the bird ended up cuddling on the floor. The cat occasionally raised his head and his look seemed to ask people if they'd really been stupid enough to think he would harm Olli.
Brian turns into a monkey. All through juniors people made fun of him for it, so now he barely ever transforms anymore. He transformed after the NHL playoff exit, their first night back in Wilkes-Barre. His monkey cuddled up to Taylor's shaggy dog, and he felt much better afterwards.
Scott turns into a very excitable puppy, and he's always been kind of embarrassed by it. It happened all the time during playoffs, and he hated it. His teammates smuggled in treats for him and didn't tell him how soothing it was to have a puppy on their laps.
Kasperi turns into a young white stork. He's very happy with it and can't wait for the day when he's fully grown because older white storks are even prettier.

Date: 2015-05-03 11:27 am (UTC)Olli and Derrick and cuddling and fluffiness! And curling up in Flower's goalie glove...so much adorbs. And Kasperi the baby stork who wants to grow up just like his father!
(This was lovely, thank you.)

Date: 2015-05-06 03:47 am (UTC)Also, I expanded from "rookies" to "everyone" hope that's cool:
The fact that the entire Caps locker room is kittens is inconvenient, but not the end of the world.
Sure, it would be handy if any one of them were strong enough, or tall enough to reach up and push the door open, but they still have ten minutes left in the intermission. That should be plenty of time to figure it out.
"You're such an optimist," Backstrom says.
Alex shrugs. Or does his best kitten-impression of a shrug. Why worry about these things? They happen. He watches their coach (pot-bellied, tiger-striped) roll onto his back and bat lightly at Kuzya's skate lace. "Coach isn't worried. Why are you so worried, Nicky?"
Backstrom's ears flatten against his head.
Behind him, Alex can see Tom Wilson lower and crouch. He's obviously going for Backstrom. And if Alex can keep him distracted for another ten seconds or so, he'll have a clean shot. Alex keeps his game face on.
It's Latts - of course it's Latts - that fucks it up. Pouncing on Wilson and knocking him to the floor before he gets a chance to launch. They go rolling, kicking and hissing while Backstrom leaps nimbly out of the way.
Eight minutes. But they have the lead. Alex stretches. Plenty of time.
